I built you a house

My heart was the foundation.

The place I started building from.

My body was the frame.

It was strong and reliable.

My arms were the walls.

They would shelter you and protect you.

My eyes were the windows.

So you could see yourself the way I do.

I built you a house using parts of myself.

I know it wasn’t fancy,

But I did my best.

I built it myself.

I built it for you.

It was never good enough,

you never called it home.

~I wish you called me ‘home’
